Chinese medicine theory attributes acne to Heat and Toxicity in the Blood. Because acne lesions often occur along the classic T pattern, on the forehead, around the nose, and on the chin, where the energy meridians of the Stomach, Small Intestine, and Large Intestine originate and end, acne is also seen as a digestive problem. The skin has become an eliminating organ because of toxins resulting from poor digestion or chemical exposure.
What to do?
The measures to prevent and cure acne include diet, hygiene, nutritional supplements, and medicines. Maintain a consistent preventive and treatment program and acne will resolve. Natural treatments have no side effects. Drugs can cause problems, but may be necessary in persistent cases. Most problems with acne, however, will respond to natural treatments and a diligent program of diet and skin care. best treatment acne scars
How to cure Acne Naturally
Take it from a guy who was afflicted with acne for close to 8 years…this image distorting skin crisis characterized by bumps, excessively oily or dry skin and an accompanying low self-esteem (in most cases) is simply horrifying. The good news is acne, like a myriad of diseases, can easily be controlled and eventually cured by all natural, drugless methods; you only need to be shown how and apply them.
Enlarge ImageDo you look in the mirror and see bumps, bumps and more bumps all over your face and in the most embarrassing places like right on your lips?
Do you look at other people’s faces and wonder what it will be like to have smooth and even skin and not be told by sympathetic friends and relatives trying to console you that "It’s not what’s on the outside that counts but what is on the inside…"
(Bet you hear this and go…yeah, that’s easy for you to say, you don’t have acne!)

Over the counter treatment for acne: Acne is the most common skin disorder, and while it usually appears in adolescence, adults can get it too. Acne occurs when hair follicles and the sebaceous glands inside the follicles are inflamed. Sebaceous glands make an oily substance called sebum. Too much sebum can clog the follicles and lead to bacterial growth and inflammation.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the four basic mechanisms contributing to acne are hormones, increased sebum production, changes inside hair follicles, and bacteria. Acne usually occurs at age 11 to 14 when the body starts producing male hormones called androgens. Androgens can over-stimulate sebaceous glands and make them produce more sebum.
Remove dead skin cells regularly by exfoliating. Use a gentle scrub with natural defoliants like ground walnut shells, or use an over-the-counter chemical defoliants like salicylic acid and glycolic acid. Cocoa butter with ground walnut shell works well, too(It is a face wash.). Remember that over-ex foliating can actually increase the likelihood of acne by irritating the skin. Pat dry, rather than rubbing, since rubbing can cause irritation to the fresh skin you've just revealed.
Use a good toner. Spray onto face or wipe on with a cotton ball and wipe off with a clean, dry cotton ball. This gets rid of excess cleanser and tightens pores. Good, inexpensive choices include plain witch hazel for normal to dry skin, or 3% hydrogen peroxide for oily skin. 70% ethyl rubbing alcohol can also be used for severe oiliness, but it can really dry out your skin and irritate it more. Some toners are medicated, too, and this stage is the best for using a medicated product if you're only going to use one medication. Lemon juice is a good option, too.

Tea tree oil has been shown to remove and stop the growth of bacteria on the skin. An Australian study showed that a 5 percent tea tree oil gel was as effective as 5 percent benzoyl peroxide. Tea tree oil is the only essential oil (except for lavender) that can be applied directly to the skin with no carrier oil. Like other antimicrobials, tea tree oil should be used in a consistent daily regimen to prevent infections.

Long hair may constitute trouble during an acne eruption. An individual's hair holds a lot of oils. It also picks up a lot of debris and filth. Then the hair chafes against the face depositing this grime and oil on the skin. Many medicos will advise keeping your hair short to prevent this ongoing trouble. Others will say that if you opt to keep your hair long tie it back as frequently as you are able to. Thus preventing this ongoing transference of oils from occurring.
Whenever an acne eruption is starting avoid the sun's beams. They can be extremely tough on the skin and even make the acne worse. Also, don't apply sunscreens that contain an oil base.
Stop popping the pimples and zits. This will only risk encouraging your acne to stay due to inflammation, irritation, and possibly infection. Popping pimples or zits could also leave aresort. If a pimple comes up in a particularly bothersome place, learn how to target a single pimple. And if you're determined to pop, learn how to pop a pimple safely and properly.
Use a mild soap for sensitive skin. It can be designed for acne-prone skin or not, but you will want to treat your skin gently. You do not need harsh antibacterial soap, which can actually make your acne worse. best adult acne treatment
The most important vitamins and minerals for acne eruptions are vitamin A from fish oil and zinc. Vitamin A is necessary for skin healing. Take 25,000 units of vitamin A twice a day. Zinc aids in healing of tissue and assists in preventing scarring. It also helps the body resist infection and inflammation. Zinc is one mineral that has shown to benefit acne in a scientific study. Take 50 mg of zinc in combination with 5 mg of copper, which can become deficient during zinc supplementation. Do not take more than 100 mg of zinc in supplements per day.
Omega-3 fatty acids have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. They maintain healthy cell membranes and ensure the normal transport of nutrients into cells. For those reasons, a supplement of omega-3 fats is one of the most important nutrients for acne. Take one tablespoon of cod liver oil or concentrated fish oil capsules with 1,500 mg EPA each day.

Over the counter treatment for acne. Teenagers are not the only ones who can get acne. Adults, at least 50%, suffer from blemishes and acne also. Sometimes adult acne is a result of pregnancy, diet, menopause or emotional upset. For some people acne is due to genetics or hormones that create excessive oil production and this clogs the pores of the skin. Some cosmetics can block pores which will create pimples.
All pimples or zits are created the same way. This is how it happens. The skin is constantly renewing itself and under normal conditions the old skin cells will shed. But sometimes these cells will stick together and they plug the hair follicle forming a comedone. Open comedones are blackheads and closed comedones are whiteheads.

Disease is an attempt of the body to rid itself of these toxins and since, according to Dr. Stanley Burroughs, the skin is the next most important eliminating organ (second only to the lungs), acne is merely an indication that you need to cleanse yourself internally and take simple measures to alleviate the outer symptoms as the cleanse proceeds.
Just how does one do an internal cleanse?
Well, as I have mentioned in quite a few of my articles, the best way to do an internal cleanse (and the fastest I must say) will be to undergo a juice or water fast. Being a radical discipline, it must be undertaken with care but it is with confidence in a fast’s unmatched ability to restore health that you can be rest assured to see a drastic improvement in your skin condition at the end of about a 3 to 4 day fast.
TOUCHING AFFECTED AREAS
Don't touch your pimples! I am sure you have all heard this one before but here is why you shouldn't. As mentioned in previous posts, acne on the skin is based bacteria and infection. Touching affected areas spreads bacteria and infection to the surrounding areas. Additionally, our hands come into contact with hundreds of different objects every day. Door handles, keyboards, tables, cars, floors, plants, etc. All of which hundreds of other people have touched and which have probably not been cleaned for many months (if ever). Bacteria and/or dirt cover the majority of these objects and until you wash your hands, you will spread both over anything you touch. So why touch an area that is bad enough to have acne and make it worse? best acne treatment ever Acne myths
Contrary to popular belief acne is not caused by:
eating fatty food or chocolate
dirt - blackheads get their dark colour through excess skin pigment - not dirt so washing more does not help, although if you do not wash your skin at all, bacteria will be able to multiply
Acne is not contagious, so you cannot catch it.
Nutritional supplements
Nutritional supplements for acne will decrease inflammation and infection and nourish the skin. If consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables is low, take a multi-vitamin supplement. Buy supplements at a health food store rather than a discount store or supermarket. The vitamin and mineral sources will be higher quality. Remember that foods provide a more balanced and absorbable form of nutrients than pills. Reliance on supplements as the only source of vitamins will not produce adequate results.

Caffeinated drinks over the counter treatment for acne! Infant acne is sometimes caused by the hormones of the mother passed to the baby through the placenta. The infant's skin is actually cleansing itself through the acne. Other factors could be detergents, spit-up and milk.
Acne is neither harmful nor irritating to the infant. But unfortunately for the parents who may be concerned with the appearance of their baby's skin, there is no cure or a way to treat infant acne. This may cause some parents to want to try to cure the acne themselves. Washing the infant's skin too often or too harshly can make the condition worse. Parents should not pick at the acne. Acne products are much too harsh and should never be used on a child's skin.
Stop! As a licensed esthetician, I am sick and tired of all the false promises, over-hyped nonsense and simply bad information being passed off as fact about YOUR adult acne.

OILY, DIRTY AND DEAD SKIN
Throughout the course of the day, your skin will both sweat, shed, and produce oil. On top of that, it will also collect any dirt from the air. You must avoid allowing this to build up. There are a few ways to maintain your skin. The first is to make sure you have a shower every day (twice a day is better but once is minimum). Always use an exfoliator (a facial scrub and loufa will do). If you exercise or play sport, always shower immediately afterwards - if no shower is available at the very least you should wash your face.
Sweat is one of the most efficient ways for your body to discharge toxins that have built up. This is why exercise will always help the fight against acne. However, if you allow the sweat to remain on the skin it will allow excessive growth of bacteria and collect even more dirt than usual. It is hard to say how sweat effects the buildup of oil because the moisture could be either. Despite that, the other factors should be enough to convince you to keep your skin as clean as possible.
Oh and one more thing. For those of you that do suffer from oily skin, the best treatment I found is to apply Himalayan Crystal Salt 2-3 times a day. It is 100% completely natural and does not damage the skin. Simply wet and apply. Easy.
Avoid wearing makeup - Leaving makeup products on your skin only contributes to clogging your pores, causing more pimples and blackheads. If you feel you must wear makeup, be sure it is water-based.
Drink 8 glasses of water - Drinking water is essential for clean skin and your overall health. Water is essential for carrying waste material out of your body... and is quite possibly flare-ups treatment for adult cystic acne
Understand that if all else fails, contact your GP. They may be able to prescribe specific mild antibiotics that can eliminate acne.
Keep in mind though, that the widespread overuse(taking antibiotics when you really don't need them or for something they don't treat) and misuse(not taking medication for the specified amount of time) of antibiotics has led to the development of multiple antibiotic resistant bacteria. That means that the antibiotics won't work for the things they used to (including your acne).
Keep hair off of your face. If you want to keep your bangs, then consider taking showers regularly or keeping your forehead clean with oil-dabbing cloths / clean tissues / etc.
Get some good sleep.

Over the counter treatment for acne - Bacteria in pores is one cause of pimples. Reduce the amount of bacteria by using toners containing anti-bacterial agents like alcohol, peroxide and benzalkonium chloride, and by using creams that contain benzoyl peroxide, which kill bacteria as well as cause the skin to regenerate faster.
Maintain a routine. Most acne treatments take time to work. It usually takes between two and eight weeks before you see any significant improvement, so you are going to have to be patient. Once you've gotten your acne cleared up, it's important to continue with the treatment that's working so it does not return.

What Causes Acne & Pimples
There are oil glands on your chest, face and back numbering in the thousands. In fact, between the nose and cheek areas there are as many as two thousand oil glands every square inch. The function of these oil glands is to lubricate the skin by producing oil, or sebum. Oil that is produced in the glands flows through follicles or tiny ducts to the surface of the skin. It usually starts far beneath the surface of the skin. A blemish (or internal lump) begins about 2 to 3 weeks before it appears on your skin's surface. Acne first begins to form in your sebaceous hair follicles. You know this as "pores", the tiny holes on you skin. Deep within each hair follicle, sebaceous glands generate sebum, the oil that keeps your skin soft, moist and pliable. As part of your skin's renewal process the old cells die and are shed off. Normally, this cell shedding process happens gradually, and fresh new skin takes its place. natural treatments for acne
Nutritional supplement essentials
1. Cod liver oil – 1 tablespoon per day with meals
Concentrated fish oil – 3 capsules per day
2. Zinc with Copper (50 mg zinc and 5 mg copper per day)
3. Acidophilus capsules (1 capsule twice/day) with meals
Skin applications
There are two reasons for people with acne to apply things to the skin. One is to exfoliate skin cells. Hormones that cause acne also cause excess shedding of skin cells, which block the pores. Exfoliants will correct abnormal shedding and unclog the pores. The second type of application, antiseptics and antibacterials will help prevent infections in the pores.

It is also important to eat adequate quantities of protein and not overeat carbohydrates in order to prevent inflammation. Cut back on baked foods made with wheat flour and any foods containing large amounts of sugar. Overloading on carbohydrates is a major cause of weight problems and tissue damage. Overeating also increases testosterone levels and promotes acne. Do not eat more than necessary to maintain body weight and energy expenditure.
Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads. The vitamins contained in these foods can have a significant beneficial effect on acne. The fiber is essential for healthy digestion and elimination. Foods high in vitamin A and beta-carotene are especially good nutritional sources (carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, and green leafy vegetables, spinach, kale, and romaine lettuce). the best over the counter acne treatment Dead cells inside hair follicles normally are shed and come out onto the surface of the skin. But in people with acne, the cells are shed faster, stick together, mix with sebum, and clog the follicle. Then bacteria contaminate the skin cell and sebum mixture and grow. When the body's immune system tries to destroy the bacteria, inflammation results.
Accutane helps the function of the follicles return to normal, lowers production of sebum, slows the growth of a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes), and reduces inflammation and the chance for scarring. The drug is unique in its ability to affect all main underlying causes of acne formation.
JUNK FOOD
Generally, you will find that certain foods will aggravate your acne far more than others. For example, chocolates, ice cream, fried foods, oily foods, etc. Foods that are high in sugar and fat content have a strong acidic effect on your body's pH balance. And while your body can digest and dispose of small amounts of these kinds of food, you should avoid having them more than once or twice per week. For some of you, even that will be too much...over the counter treatment for acne. If you have severe acne, consider looking into ZENMED’s line of acne treatments popularly known as the Derma Cleanse system. For pimples that are more persistent, ask your dermatologist for an antibiotic solution to be applied to the surface of the skin or an oral antibiotic, such as tetracycline or erythromycin. Using antibiotics as acne treatment functions to suppress bacterial growth thereby reducing the recurrence of persistent acne.
